Textile Manipulations- The Pain of Addiction

The Pain of Addiction is a textile manipulation project that provokes emotion and demonstrates some of the issues and hardships of drug addiction. In this project, I created three textiles to highlight different parts of drug addiction. The first textile "Where Did My Mind Go?" was created to discuss the struggles with mental health and how it can lead to addiction, along with one loosing their mind during addiction and no longer feeling like themselves. The second textile "You Are Here But You Are Not" highlights the hardships families go through when having a loved one suffering from addiction and how physically a person can be there, but mentally they are gone. The third textile "A Crisis With No Solution" Calls attention to the opioid crisis and continuously seeing more deaths due to addiction in the news.
